How to Clean a Paintball Mess

Do you remember your childhood years when you and your friends used to pretend to be soldiers shooting at each other with toy guns? Now you can elevate this to a real, albeit safe, shooting sport called paintball. This is a game wherein players of a team attempt to eliminate members of an opposing group by shooting them with capsules containing paint. These capsules are fired from a gun-like device called a paintball marker. Once the capsule, referred to as a paintball, hits a person, it bursts open and marks the person with paint, indicating that he is hit and is out of the game.

Like all other shooting games, there are instances wherein players miss their targets. These shots sometimes unintentionally hit cars, walls, and aluminium sidings, creating a mess. Fortunately, cleaning paintball mess is not difficult because the paint is usually water-based.

Start by wiping the area immediately with a damp cloth. If the paint is newly splattered, a simple wipe would be enough to clean the mess off. However, if the paint is starting to gum up, you need to bring on heavier cleaning artillery.

Wash the area first with plenty of water. Then pour a capful of detergent in a bucket of water. After stirring the water to produce soap suds, dip a scrub brush in the cleaning solution, and apply it to the painted area. Use circular motions to completely cover the mess. The detergent chemically breaks down the paint, making it much easier for you to remove.

Finally, allow the soap solution to set for a few minutes then rinse the area with clean water. If the paint still remains, repeat the process all over again.
